If you like to watch video see link below if not read on. Thanks. Today’s topic “What does fluid flushing and maintenance accomplish? In the engine crank case it keeps down engine wear and seal deterioration. Preventing engine internal wear/damage and oil leakage. In the transmission it flushes’ out old dirty fluid and polymers’ and refreshes it with clean new fluid and new polymers’. This prevents transmission leaks, chatter and wear. In the power steering it keep the seals and gaskets fresh and supple, this prevents leakage from the steering gear and power steering pump. Also cleans and improves performance of the valves and feel of the power steering. In the cooling system flushes prevent rot from acid build up that can literally eat the engine and radiator form the inside out. This is one of the most critical systems under the hood. If you like to watch video see link below if not read on. Thanks. Todays’ topic “Is my car ready for fluid flushes’’ and “fluid maintenance?” Here is some general guide lines and experiences with vehicles we have inspected. Even though we have general guide lines for flushing fluids all vehicles and drivers are unique having different needs. We have found transmission fluid at 30,000 mile in some vehicles to be jet black and stinking. Coolant to be deteriorated due to time not mileage. And our Florida humidity causes brake fluid to turned colors and deteriorate faster than other parts of the country. The service advisors in combination with the technicians can perform these inspection tasks and advise. The bottom line is we a can inspect your vehicles fluids and recommend needs due to deterioration and preventive maintenances for time or miles. If you like to watch video see link below if not read on. Thanks. Todays’ topic “How has fluid flushing changed in the last few years?” Here some basic changes over the last few years. First fluid specifications have changed greatly. We on the service desk check the electronic repair manual on each vehicle to be serviced to make sure that all fluids meet or exceed the vehicle requirements. Second many vehicles now have electronic steering that does not contain fluid and required no flushing. Third CVT transmissions are becoming more popular in many vehicles’. These do not require flushing. Actually flushing can cause issues in this type transmissions. As you can see the automotive industry is constantly changing and growing. We daily are learning new and different ideas and procedures. Even the blogs I have recently done will be shortly out dated. If you like to watch video see link below if not read on. Thanks. Today’s topic “How does fluid flushing and maintenance save me money?” In the engine crank case it keeps down engine wear and seal deterioration. Preventing engine internal wear/damage and oil leakage. Lack of oil changes is one of the leading causes of major engine failure. Engine replacement in today’s market starts at $4,000 dollars and goes up and over $10,000 dollars for luxury and diesel models. In the transmissions it prevents transmission leaks, chatter, hard shift and internal wear. Also a maintained transmission in much less likely to have a major failure. That is a cost saving or $2,000 to $5,000 per vehicle. In the power steering it keep the seals and gaskets fresh and supple, this prevents leakage from the steering gear and power steering pump. A typical steering rack operation starts at $750 dollars for an inexpensive type and goes up over a $1,000. Flushing this simple system ca ... read more
